happy

literally just lived the best weekend of my entire life. it was packed with driving and laughing and getting ready and not getting sleep. it was spent with all of my favorites.

it was spent happy.

some days its easy to be happy, some days its not so easy. 

here are the things that i am so so so happy about today: 

i am happy that elijah is as passionate as i am. i am happy that we can both be right about something when we are actually both probably incredibly wrong. i am happy he calls me out, even when im not happy about it. i am happy hes my best friend. 

i am happy that madeleine is on her way to michigan {as we speak} i am happy that we still make the same jokes about things. but right now i am mainly happy that i get to see her this weekend. 

i am happy that i pick kale up tomorrow. i am happy that we get to have as many slurpees as we want this weekend. i am happy that we can {attempt to} finish our movie list!

i am happy i have seen this photo! i mean, really. awesome?!

i am happy that i get to watch taylor swifts tour whenever, where ever i want. 

i am happy that i have watched it three times since monday. 

i am happy that i am going to watch it again tonight with my mom {she doesnt know this yet.. but she should be expecting it...}

i am happy that i own footy pajamas. i am happy that my sister has the exact same ones as i do. 

i am happy i cut 4 inches off my hair. i am happy i didnt go dark. 

i am happy that i am seeing city and colour on friday night. i am happy they are sad. all of the time. 

i am happy that i leave for the virgin islands in 8 days. i am happy to see the water. i am happy to see the colors. i am happy i get to do the one thing that makes me incredibly happy. and i get to do it somewhere beautiful.

i am happy i didnt listen to the people who tried to tell me i wasnt good enough. 

i am happy for the people who believe in me and encourage me.
and if you are one of those people, thank you. i love you. forever and always.

we then somehow woke up 4 hours later, met her other sister and brother in law for breakfast at the original house of pancakes and ate HALF of the pancake that we SPLIT.

my night is about as low key as the rest of the weekend was, i have to change posters at the mall {fun.....not} and then hopefully get started on photos of reem and the ever so adorable family i spent time with yesterday!!! {seriously. so. much. cute.} and then Skype with madeleine. because i haven't seen her face in a few days too many.

at any rate. it was great. she is adorable. and i thought she couldnt make me smile any more.

I bowled... Not well, threw the ball backwards {intentionally or not, you'll never know} and got a strike {intentionally or not, you'll never know}. Singular. Not plural..

i guess im a copy cat. oh and dont mind the 0's... those are good! i swear.. 

But again, it's the effort...which doesn't say much being as I bowled right handed and left handed. And a granny shot.. And with my eyes closed once

Most importantly, I had fun. In one of those: "feels like old times" kind of ways. And those are good kinds of fun.

You like bowling? I was told: "you never like it, yet always suggest it"

I guess cause I always have had great memories attached to it.

watched parenthood this afternoon
a. such an amazing show
b. even more amazing cast
c. the story line... it is flawless
d. the soundtrack, it pulls on your heart strings

but yesterdays episode was particularly amazing. lauren grahams character keeps getting better and better and every time she is on screen i want to cry with her. she has a huge heart that is always torn between what she wants and whats best for her {not too far from me..}

and then there is crosby... who is a huge screwup but you cant help but sympathize with him. amber and drew, the siblings you want to be. and adam.. well hes just handsome.

anyways, im really posting this to kill some time before bowling.. and to share a song that they played yesterday. i fell in love with this song last week and i was very happy to hear it in this episode




im going to try my hardest to NOT be on twitter while i bowl... i dont want any spoilers for the CMAs. since i will be watching them when i come home. and taylor will win. clean. sweep.

manchester orchestra

i am going to act like a music reviewer* for this post:

seeing the same band twice in 6 months takes talent.
to be in the exact same place as you were 6 months ago ALSO takes talent.

but really the only one who has REAL, actual, talent in this scenario is andy hull. the lead singer/song-writer for manchester orchestra, and the second time that i see them live.. ended the same - yet thankfully entirely differently- i just feel amazed. they dont do a whole lot of interacting with the crowd, which i normally would wish for. {im all about the connection with the artist}. but some reason, with them its almost better this way. its to the point, no fluff. just like their music.

and that elijah kid said it best: 'the tone of andys guitar tonight was to die for!'

only i didnt technically notice that. {i cant even air guitar with out doing it wrong}
i did however, notice that they had two guys on drums, that andy hull is married {or at least likes to wear a ring on his ring finger} and the guy standing next to me.. needed a shower, and a haircut. i noticed that a lot of kids are constantly on their phones.. even in the pit. i noticed all those things.

but. i am mostly noticed that they played the three songs i was hoping they would play!

really, what more can you ask for? oh i would ask for madeleine and kale to be there with me, like last time.

*cause thats the proper name of such a title 

and for some reason all i want to listen to now is patrick stumps new album.

just kidding. i really do do my work on it. its massive and perfect for photos! and i have photos from saturday with reem {rulas baby sister! i cant talk about it, she is supposed to still be in middle school} that i need to look at and spend time with. and i have blogs to catch up on and to be completely honest... im spoiled now with my large desk top. so instead, i blog. random iphone photos and complain about lack of promises being kept
