i started 2011 with a project that i really loved. it was a 365 project, a photo a day. i wanted to do it so i could stop making excuses for leaving my camera at home, i wanted to bring it everywhere i went and take at least one decent photo a day. i did really good for just over 2 months - and then i stopped. i blame the event of losing all of my florida photos, all 1500 of them. {i cant be trusted with external hard drives, OR thumb drives, apparently}
i wish i kept going. "you could start it back up again" maddie would say - and maybe i could. its not like i love unfinished projects. i just dont think im good at it {finishing things}
but today i was going through the site and i missed it. i miss my florida photos. {so. much.} i miss the project. i miss everything about it. i miss sending them to maddie first, to give me an honest opinion.

i miss this owl. she was beautiful. 

maybe i will start it back up again. feel productive with my photography on a personal level. because im incredibly busy and fortunate for the people who love my photography, but i also love the feeling i get when i actually take a photo on my own. its one of the best feelings ive ever felt. "you need to stop being so sappy" elijah would say. {my friends voices are in my head. always. all. ways.} but its different, i love when i take a photo and think "grandpa would love this" and i feel that way about this owl.

in fact it was the only thing i was going to post.

this post is a little bit about best friend and i. 

or a lot. 

let me explain... 

"October = Best Month. Ever!"

because she is madeleine* and I was dreading it, she decided to make october awesome - and she did just that. 

this photograph {easily one of the BEST} was from a year ago {yesterday} 

and this photograph pretty much sums everything up. 

it was "the best month! Ever!"

she not only made d-day memorable - but october as a whole

-we saw ingrid michaelson {best singer ever!! if taylor and zooey dont count...dont tell them they dont count} at the crowfoot in pontiac {best venue EVER} 

-we went to DC {best road trip ever!} 

-best pittsburgh {i.e. best motel we didnt stay in}**

-best food

-best buildings

-best museums 

-best people watching

-best getting lost skills

-best shuttle drivers

-best potbellies

-best walking

-best fake boyfriends and husbands 

-best

-best abe lincoln we ever did see

-speak now came out while we were in DC {best cd ever} 

*Madeleine noun. (md-ln) a best friend for eternity. Distance smistance wont matter. Thoughtful. Hilarious. Someone you can trust. Mutual love for Taco BellTM.

** i was going to link to a site for the motel we nearly slept at... but... well... every link i could find was filled with bad words and ultimately would make us look even crazier for even thinking of staying at this motel - i wish i would have bought a post card. this post card:

because post cards for the worst motel ever that make it look like its the best hotel ever make my day!
and the link i emailed madeleine of a video of someone reviewing this motel will make her day!

happiest sunday

spending some quality time with my computer this afternoon {lovely wedding photos to see} 
music is really the main thing that gets me going and in the mood to edit. sometimes its a mix. sometimes its something slow. sometimes its some luda {yes.} or sometimes it is the same song on repeat. today. its the same song on repeat. maybe because i just watched something borrowed this week, or maybe its because natasha bedingfield is my guilty pleasure. either way. this song. its good.

don't mind the sappy video montage playing to it. i watched it and was at least happy they didn't give away the ending. Ginnifer Goodwin is adorable and well so is John Krasinski. {all thanks to Jim Halpert I am sure, because what isn't to love about a sappy fool in love with the office receptionist?!} 


at any rate. thats what I'm hearing today. Later I meet with Olivia and Brennan for some engagement photos! {i. love. love.}


op. so now i lied. i have moved on to the format. by the time i am done typing i will probably change my mind again, so I'm off. have a happiest sunday today! i hope the sun is doing its job for you today and making it bright and happy! 

whats that? you want to see a photo from last saturday? okay! here are the lovely lauren and jason - how awesome is that dress? and how perfect is that room? twinkle lights are dreamy in any occasion but really dreamy for wedding photos! they got married in ferndale at Via Nove {which just so happens to be my dads uncles resturant and it was out of this world delicious!} now stop distracting me and let me work! ;)

Almost Friday

Today, I didn't know what day it was really. Spent time with my sister {which I loved} and watched not one but three movies.. All but one made me cry {this shouldn't shock anyone. Really} and spent my day and night thinking about this:

Officially the BIGGEST owl I own!!! Yay me! {and yay mom who thinks of everyone but herself 110% of the time. You're my hero}

Almost weekend

Midweek post of.. Well.. nonsense. Since it's 1am and my friends are either knocked out (wish I were) or too busy twitter quoting each other (Elijah!) thought I would share some of my week so far.

Consisting of friends (relating to Ross, like ALWAYS!), sunsets, puppy sitting, walks, autumn (finally!), and beer kegs found in my kitchen.

Oh. And just finding a 10 page catalog with pages of a beautiful face (don't tell anyone)

This weekend, I am so excited for! Cody and Danielle are getting married! And I get to play with Olivia and Brendan on Sunday for an engagement shoot!

today i shoot my tenth wedding!!

its incredibly crazy for me to think that i am becoming what i had always dreamed of being.
from the first summer i spent with my grandpas camera i realized that i wanted to take photographs.
and to think that people appreciate my photos and include me in their wedding plans..

well thats pretty wonderful!

today i am happy and excited and appreciative

 i wouldn't have gotten to this place with out my awesome clients, amazing friends and loving family who believed in me.

thanks for having fun with me and letting me try new things and make old things better. thanks for your support. 

and to everyone and anyone who comes here and reads my ramblings and looks at my cameras view point, thank you. thank you for being there. and thank you for being excited with me.

that being said.... you're probably wondering why i share a photo from my florida trip...

somewhere above the states between michigan and florida, i like to imagine its right over athens georgia 

IM GOING TO THE VIRGIN ISLANDS IN DECEMBER FOR MY ELEVENTH WEDDING!! 

now. i am done shouting. but i have been so incredibly excited for this and i think there is no better time to announce it than the first day of my favorite month {EVER} 

i have never been there and i am most excited to see the water
